Ofrenda de Corazón is inspired by the Mexica/Aztec cosmo-vision in which prickly pears or "Tunas" were believed to be the hearts of the Nopal cactus. The flowers that the cactus gave were offerings for the gods. These works explore the grieving of loved ones as a "memento" The Prickly pears go into a cycle of giving their flowers to the sky. Carved into the tunas, the phrase for those who died, or in Spanish "Por les que se fueron" is written in the inclusive language, thinking in everyone who passed away. This artwork has multiple ways to be displayed, by presenting the pieces together or separately.
