Día de los Muertos is a tradition of Mexica origin with the influence of Spanish traditions. The festivity takes part in Mexico on the last days of October and the first days of November to honour loved ones who have passed away. The installation is an artwork based on this Mexican tradition, celebrating the mark that the Familia Sauza has left in the world. The ofrenda represents three generations of the Familia Sauza using portraits of Don Cenobio, Don Eladio and Don Francisco Javier, who were three visionaries who contributed to the legacy of Tequila worldwide in the Sauza family. As Dia de los Muertos, the Tequila Mexican spirit has its roots in the Mexica tradition. The artist inspired by this incredible story uses cultural elements like papel picado, candles, cempazúchil flowers, baskets, and Tequila Tres Generaciones to create an ofrenda to honour the Family Sauza.
